What a book!  I had been eyeing this up when I received an email from Titan Books asking if I would like a copy for review.  As you can guess, I jumped at the chance and started reading as soon as it arrived.

Tanya DuBois discovers the body of her husband in a crumpled heap at the bottom of the stairs.  She didn’t kill him, she’s innocent….but there are other skeletons in her closet and they need to remain locked away.  So Tanya decides to run.

Along the way she meets Blue, another woman with something to hide.  Armed with a new identity (one of many) she starts a new life miles away from her old one.  But she is always looking over her shoulder, watching every word that comes out of her mouth just in case she gives something of her past away.

I really liked Tanya/Amelia/Debra/etc (I’ll call her Tanya for the purposes of this review!).  I enjoyed her wit and her determination to stay one step ahead.  Some of the earlier chapters end with an email exchange between Ryan and Jo.  I thought this was an intriguing way of introducing Tanya’s background to the story and it certainly keeps you guessing.  Exactly what part do Ryan and Jo play in Tanya’s past?  And who is Blue?

Before long Tanya discovers that you can’t hide from the past (after all you can change your name but you can’t change what you’ve done…) and is forced to face up to the life she left behind 10 years ago.

A fantastic thriller which kept me coming back for more.  I’m going to miss reading about Tanya now that the story has come to an end.  If you love a strong female protagonist this is one you cannot miss.
