#R3COMM3ND3D2022 with #BookBlogger Jude Wright (@judefire33) #Judefire33TheBookBlog #BookRecommendations #publishedin2022 #booktwt #whattoread #damppebbles

Hello bookish pals and welcome to Wednesday on damppebbles. It’s day 23 of #R3COMM3ND3D2022 which means that after today, there are only 7 posts until the end of this year’s series. But what a corker it’s been! We’ve had 64 books recommended with two books – The Girl from Guernica by Karen Robards and Nothing Else by Louise Beech – both receiving two votes each! With the finish line in sight, will these two make it triumphantly to the end to be crowned joint winners? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see!

Joining me to share the book love today is a brilliant blogger who I heartily recommend you follow, it’s the fabulous Jude Wright ofΒ Judefire33 – The Book Blog. Jude, like me, is a crime fiction and thriller fan so I always like to keep an eye on what she’s reading! And, slightly off topic but I’m sure no one will really mind because it’s fur babies, Jude is also a guinea pig mum, again, like me! Well, truth be told I’m a guinea pig nana because they actually belong to my children 🀣

So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2022? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors, book bloggers, reviewers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2022. To make things interesting there are a couple of teeny, tiny rules; 1) the book must have FIRST been published in 2022 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes πŸ˜‰

Here are the three books Jude recommends…

The Other Side of Night by Adam Hamdy
It’s so different to any other thriller and it changed my way of thinking!
Jude’s Review of The Other Side of Night

The Skeleton Key by Erin Kelly
I just adored this book, I so want it to become a series! Brilliantly written and just superb!
Jude’s Review of The Skeleton Key

Where Blood Runs Cold by Giles Kristian
It’s set in Norway ( I love Norway ) there’s a ton of snow! And it’s a superb story about a father’s love and fighting against all odds!
Jude’s Review of Where Blood Runs Cold

Thank you so much, Jude. Three fantastic looking picks which are going straight on my TBR!

About Jude Wright:
I started my blog reviewing my favourite genre crime fiction, in Feb 2021 after being made redundant for the first time ever at 54! I was out of work for a year and it helped me immensely with my MH and I was lucky enough to have some lovely bookish people help me to get started with proofs and interviewing lots of authors, my first being my hero Stuart MacBride! I’m not back working part-time so my reading is slower, but I still love to review books that I love, and interview authors for my continued Q&A session. I’m a mum of 4 indoor freerange guinea pigs who feature occasionally in helping to promote books! I love Crime Fiction and have started to enjoy Historical Crime Fiction, and thrillers.

Sadly submissions for #R3COMM3D3D2022 are now closed. Shortly after the last post I will be inviting you to attend the virtual after-show party, which should be fun. We’ll get to gaze upon the marvellous and majestic beauty of 2022’s books and also crown 2022’s winner, if we have one (they’re all winners, right?). Until then stay tuned as we have lots more bookish gorgeousness heading your way throughout November.
