#R3COMM3ND3D2023 with #Bookstagrammer Mags (@mags_louise) #magslouisethebookworm #BookRecommendations #publishedin2023 #BookTwitter #booktwt #BookX #whattoread #damppebbles

Happy Monday one and all! A brand new week with brand new #R3COMM3ND3D guests and brand new book recommendations. It’s so exciting! It’s day 20 of #R3COMM3ND3D2023 and after today there are only 10 days left of this year’s feature. Will our current front runner – The Good Liars by Anita Frank – continue to be the only book selected more than once? Or will one of my bookish guests between now and then mix things up a little and throw another cracking 2023 release into the pot to give The Good Liars a run for its money…?!

Let’s not sit around and ponder. Let’s find out who is joining me today! I am absolutely delighted to welcome a brilliant bookstagrammer to talk all things #R3COMM3ND3D with me, it’s the fabulous Mags of @magslouisethebookworm! I’m a huge fan of Mags’s feed so if you’re not following Mags over on the ‘gram then you know what to do!

So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2023? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors, book bloggers, reviewers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2023. To make things interesting there are a couple of teeny, tiny rules; 1) the book must have FIRST been published in 2023 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. See, it wasn’t too painful. I just like to keep you lovely people on your toes 😉

Here are the three books Mags recommends…

All Of Us Are Broken by Fiona Cummins
This was my book of the month for July, and my first Fiona Cummins story and it’s fair to say it was a memorable one.

The Sins We Hide by S.Cole
I’m a huge fan of Scarletts books and especially the Iron Outlaws series. So much so I struggled to decide which of the four should be featured. As three have been my book of the month picks. But in the end I chose Gwen and Clutch’s story as this is the one where the journey begins and it’s such a huge departure from anything Scarlett has written before. Which is why I feel it needs shouting about.

The Twenty by Sam Holland
This was my book of the month for May and again my first introduction to author Sam Holland and I just loved everything about it. Especially the fact that it’s dark and disturbing and one of those stories that just keep you reading long into the night.
Mags’s Review of The Twenty

Thanks so much, Mags. I’m a huge fan of The Twenty by Sam Holland so I’m over the moon to see it on your list. One of my favourite books of the year without a doubt. And of course, this is the second time we’ve seen All Of Us Are Broken by Fiona Cummins which puts it into joint first place with The Good Liars!

About Mags:
I spend my days reading and reviewing books whilst trying to encourage my lazy lurcher Izzy to go out for walks. When I’m not reading, I am being perpetually disappointed by Sheffield Wednesday and my bank balance. Which, unfortunately, cannot sustain my obsession with buying beautiful books.

#R3COMM3ND3D will only run for the month of November this year so places are very limited. If you would like to take part in #R3C this year (and I would LOVE you to!) then please get your three choices in ASAP. If I’m unable to fill all 30 dates then any posts scheduled for the end of November will be brought forward and I will close the series early (but I don’t want to do that, it sounds miserable! 😂). Here are two different versions of the form if you fancy taking part.

If you’re a book blogger, bookstagrammer, reviewer or an author and you have three books published this year which you want to shout about then please complete the following form (or click this link: https://forms.gle/d6HbMLZJjEtUSm8FA)
