Hello and the warmest of welcomes to you on this fourth Thursday in November. Before I go any further I would like to wish my American followers a very happy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful day, full of the things you love the most.

It’s Thursday, the weekend is barely a sniff away. It’s also day twenty-three of this year’s #R3COMM3ND3D and I don’t know about you but my TBR is already creaking and bowing under the weight of all of the new books I’ve added since we started on 1st November! So far sixty-four gorgeous titles have been recommended by bookish people very much ‘in the know’. I wonder if today’s guest will introduce three new, never seen before titles to the #R3COMM3ND3D2023 vault or whether there will be any familiar, previously recommended picks…

Joining me to chat all things #R3COMM3ND3D today is a fabulous book blogger, it’s the brilliant Yvonne of The Coycaterpillar Reads. If, like me, you’re a fan of the dark and the devious, the creepy and the macabre, the thrilling and the chilling, then you absolutely must give Yvonne’s blog a follow because she is an avid horror reader (amongst other genres) and you will find so many brilliant books to add to your favourites list. If you don’t subscribe already than you know what to do!

So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2023? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors, book bloggers, reviewers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2023. To make things interesting there are a couple of teeny, tiny rules; 1) the book must have FIRST been published in 2023 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. See, it wasn’t too painful. I just like to keep you lovely people on your toes 😉

Let’s not dilly dally a moment longer, here are the books Yvonne recommends…

The Whispering Muse by Laura Purcell
It’s an amazingly well written cautionary tale that shows exactly why you shouldn’t underestimate a woman’s power to exact revenge.
Yvonne’s Review of The Whispering Muse

Foxfire by Rowan Hill
Foxfire is a beautifully penned horror story about isolation and the entrapment of the harsh arctic wilderness.
Yvonne’s Review of Foxfire

None of This is True by Lisa Jewell
None of This is True is built around loss. Primarily, the loss of self and as a woman approaching 40 (not for 3.5 years but still) it was great to have an older character.
Yvonne’s Review of None of This is True

Thank you so much, Yvonne. They’re all going straight on the TBR. Oh, hold on a minute. One of these books is already on my TBR because this is the second time we’ve seen it 🎉 None of This is True by Lisa Jewell joins The Good Liars by Anita Frank and All of Us Are Broken by Fiona Cummins in the #R3COMM3ND3D2023 top spot. Will these three books take the crown or will a fourth book be added before the month is out?

#R3COMM3ND3D will only run for the month of November this year so places are very limited. If you would like to take part in #R3C this year (and I would LOVE you to!) then please get your three choices in ASAP. If I’m unable to fill all 30 dates then any posts scheduled for the end of November will be brought forward and I will close the series early (but I don’t want to do that, it sounds miserable! 😂). Here are two different versions of the form if you fancy taking part.

If you’re a book blogger, bookstagrammer, reviewer or an author and you have three books published this year which you want to shout about then please complete the following form (or click this link: https://forms.gle/d6HbMLZJjEtUSm8FA)
