Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.
The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
This week’s theme is Bookish Wishes (list the top 10 books you’d love to own). I don’t think this is going to be as easy as it sounds. There are so many books (mostly written by Stephen Graham Jones!) coming out soon-ish that I really want to get my mitts on. I could include them in this list but I also know that in a couple of weeks, I’ll need to compile a list of my ten most anticipated books publishing in the second half of the year.
I also remember compiling a list of books using my wish list around Christmas last year. Not a lot has changed on that list (and I’m a little worried there isn’t enough on it to get a second good list!). I have one of my wishes now as an audiobook and another I was offered as an eARC by the publisher. I think I’ve maybe added two book since the start of the year. It’s still pretty much the same as it was then really! But it’s the only way I feel I have to go with this one. I’ll try and keep duplicates to an absolute minimum. Just forget you ever saw my Christmas TTT post and whatever you do, don’t click on that link up there ⬆️🤭
1. Girl Falling by Hayley Scrivenor
2. Prisoner by S.R. White
3. The Last Girls Standing by Jennifer Dugan
4. What Still Burns by Elle Grawl
5. She is a Haunting by Trang Thanh Tran
6. Wayward by Chuck Wendig
Flashback to my TTT post from 27th May 2025 when I spoke about how very long books scare me. This book is the sequel to Wanderers which has 800 pages. As a result, I haven’t read Wanderers yet. However, I have the 816 page sequel on my wish list! It’s bonkers.
7. A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham
8. The Grip of It by Jac Jemc
9. Serial Killer Support Group by Saratoga Schaefer
10. After the Storm by G.D. Wright
And not a single repeated book! It’s a miracle. Took a little bit of brain power though and I have added a couple of books that weren’t originally on my wish list to my wish list. That’s allowed though, right? For those of us who are astonishingly bad at keeping wish lists up to date 🤭
Have you read any of these books? Any you think I should make a point of acquiring sooner rather than later? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next topic is!

It’s interesting to see how fast a wish list can change!
