Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.

The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. This week’s theme is a Books Guaranteed to Put an End to Your Book Slump (Which books would you recommend to someone dealing with the dreaded book slump? No book is grabbing their attention or making them excited to sit down and read and they are suffering for it.) So, this feels to me a little like it could turn into ANOTHER list of my favourite books. And let’s be honest, we’ve done that. We’ve done it SEVERAL times now and as much as I love the books that always appear on that particular list, I’m sure you would like to see a different selection.

Book slumps are unfortunately a thing. I have suffered from many slumps over the years. I think you just have to be patient. They will pass, in time. One of the things that I find helps move a slump on a little quicker is reading something different. I read a lot of crime and psychological/suspense thrillers, so I put those to one side and make a beeline for my horror novels. That’s what I’m going to focus on today, Ten Highly Recommended Horror Novels (and yes, some of these books would more than likely feature on that overdone ‘favourite books’ list but that’s not the point….)

Against my better judgement I have decided to not make this a list of only Ronald Malfi and Stephen Graham Jones’s books. It was very hard to ‘just choose one book’ from both authors.

Some of the best horror fiction I’ve read over the years. Still quite shocked that it’s not just a list of Ronald Malfi and Stephen Graham Jones books, but hey ho! Much as I love those two authors and want to shout about their books ALL THE TIME, it’s good to have some variety, right?
