Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.
The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog, then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
This week’s theme is Book Covers Featuring Interesting Typography. Normally I have a good idea how a theme is going to go for me BEFORE I start compiling list. This one? Not a clue. Crime books tend to follow a bit of a format. Remember a few years ago when every cover seemed to have a women facing away from the reader in either a red or yellow coat? Well, if you look back at those covers you’ll see they also had fairly similar fonts/typography for the title and the name of the author. So to start, I’m going to kick off with Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito which I used to start last week’s list too, because I still, over a year on, can’t get over how striking the cover is. Keep everything crossed for me for the remainder of the list….

1. Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito

2. The Killer Question by Janice Hallett

3. The Captive by Kit Burgoyne

4. How to Survive a Horror Sequel by Scarlett Dunmore

5. The Book of Guilt by Catherine Chidgey

6. Little Red Death by A.K. Benedict

8. I Was a Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones

10. Estella’s Revenge by Barbara Havelocke
That was significantly easier than I expected, phew! I did have to scroll through a lot of basic block lettering to get to this point though. How did you get on with this week’s theme? Have you read any of these books? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next theme is!

The Contest has such unique typography.
