Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.
The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog, then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
This week’s theme is Authors You Wish Were Still Writing Today (these could be authors who have passed away or retired/are taking a long hiatus from writing. You could also spin this and share authors who have switched to a genre you’re not interested in.) Submitted by Rebecca @ Top100Books. I think I may struggle with this one. I could head down the Dame Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Patricia Highsmith, P.D. James path. But I’m not going to. I’m going to keep this list more contemporary. For the record, for many of these authors, I do not know why they have stopped writing fiction/taken a hiatus. I know Amer Anwar passed away quite suddenly last year and, having spent considerable time with him at Harrogate a few years ago, it still hurts my heart.

1. Amer Anwar

2. James Carol (also J.S. Carol)

3. James Hazel

4. Erin Young

5. Laure Van Rensburg

6. Azma Dar

7. Tina Baker

8. Katie Gutierrez

9. Gabriel Bergmoser
Granted, Gabriel has published a couple of Audible exclusive audiobooks and a non-fiction title in recent years.

10. B.E. Jones (also Beverley Jones)
So there you have it. Ten books by authors I really miss. All ten of these books have left their mark on me in some way or another. Have you read any of these books? Planning on reading any? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next theme is!

Great picks, I ended up with a mixture of contemporary and classic authors because I couldn’t decide what to go with 😂

I have not heard of any of these authors so I have some to check out for sure!
For my list, I focused on authors who are no longer with us that have instrumental to my own reading journey at some point in my life.

These authors are all new to me. I decided to twist this week’s theme and focus on my most read authors of all time.

I haven’t heard of any of these authors/books. I’ll have to check some of them out. I included Agatha Christie because I was struggling to come up with ten AND I think she would still be publishing good reads if she were still alive today!
Happy TTT!
