Hello bookish friends and welcome to Monday’s #R3COMM3ND3D2019 post. Here’s hoping you have a great week, full to the brim of brilliant books. Today I am delighted to welcome the lovely Nicki of Nicki’s Book Blog to share three books she really enjoyed from 2019 with us. If you’ve not discovered Nicki’s blog yet then you must pop over and say ‘hi’.
So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2019? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors and book bloggers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2019. To make things interesting I have added a couple of teeny, tiny rules this year which are; 1) the book must have first been published in 2019 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes 😉.
Here are the three books Nicki recommends…
Rosie and Ruby by Patricia Dixon
A book of hope for those how have had a difficult relationship with their mothers. This really touched me and made me both smile and cry. A book with a message.
Nicki’s Review of Rosie and Ruby
Five Steps to Happy by Ella Dove
A brave, wonderful, uplifting read. Of making lemonade when handed lemons in life. A woman of true grit and determination-an inspiration.
Nicki’s Review of Five Steps to Happy
The Woman at Number 19 by J.A. Baker
My emotions rolled from highs to lows with this. A very clever well thought out plot that had me reeling (in a good way).
