Happy Wednesday lovely book folk. I hope you’re having a good week so far. Welcome to damppebbles and to day TWENTY of #R3COMM3ND3D2019! I am delighted to welcome another brilliant book blogger to share the #R3COMM3ND3D love with us today, and it’s a book blogger whose blog I have recently discovered (and love!). Welcome Sarah of Babbage and Sweetcorn. If you haven’t discovered Sarah’s blog yet then head on over and have a look around!

So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2019? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors and book bloggers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2019. To make things interesting I have added a couple of teeny, tiny rules this year which are; 1) the book must have first been published in 2019 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes 😉.

Here are the three books Sarah chose…

We Must Be Brave by Frances Liardet
Such a touching story with beautifully described characters. The writing is wonderful with super attention to details. I think nearly anything would be touched by this simple yet moving story.

The Good Friend by Jo Baldwin
This is a great paced psychological thriller that gets you hooked from the very beginning. All the characters play relevant parts and have interesting elements to each of them. The setting is great with and brilliant ending.

The Doll Factory by Elizabeth Macneal
A wonderfully written historical fiction book. Great for this time of year. Descriptive writing draws you in to time and place. Wonderful characters and interesting plot and historical background. Great pace with a truly creepy villain.
