Happy hump day, bookish lovelies, and welcome to another fantastic #R3COMM3ND3D2019 post! To cheer your mid-week blues I have such a treat in store for you today. I am delighted to welcome the fabulous Tracy Fenton to damppebbles to share three of her favourite reads from 2019. Tracy’s blog, Compulsive Readers, is full of lovely bookish delights so if you don’t already follow her then that needs to change! Tracy is also the founder of a super secret Facebook book club with nearly 9,500 members (maybe it isn’t so secret after all….).
So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2019? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors and book bloggers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2019. To make things interesting I have added a couple of teeny, tiny rules this year which are; 1) the book must have first been published in 2019 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes. 😉
Here are the three books Tracy recommends…
Miracle Creek by Angie Kim
A stunning debut novel which blew me away emotionally. With authentic characters and superb writing Miracle Creek went straight into my TOP TEN books of 2019 and I can’t stop recommending it.
Tracy’s Review of Miracle Creek
My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing
I love a twisted, psychological thriller and if it features a bat-sh*t crazy female character then I’m in literary heaven – My Lovely Wife ticks all my boxes for a superb story.
Tracy’s Review of My Lovely Wife
The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
As a huge obsessive and addicted fan of The Handmaid’s Tale TV series I couldn’t wait to find out what happened to Gilead 15 years later.
Tracy’s Review of The Testaments
Thanks so much, Tracy. I already have Miracle Creek on my TBR and that’s all thanks to your recommendation earlier this year! Good to see My Lovely Wife make it’s third #R3COMM3ND3D2019 appearance. I think we have a leader…
