Happy Sunday, book friends. I hope you’re having a great weekend so far! Welcome to damppebbles today and to another fantastic day of sharing the book love. Today on #R3COMM3ND3D2019 I am delighted to welcome the brilliant Marnie Harrison of Once Upon a Time Book Blog. Marnie is a reasonably new book blogger to me but I adore her reviews. Her passion for the written word shines through. Go and check out her blog and make sure you subscribe to her posts whilst you’re there!
So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2019? Itβs about sharing the book love. Itβs a chance for authors and book bloggers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2019. To make things interesting I have added a couple of teeny, tiny rules this year which are; 1) the book must have first been published in 2019 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes. π
Here are Marnie’s three #R3COMM3ND3D2019 picks…
See Them Run (Detective Clare Mackay #1) by Marion Todd
This is stunning debut and cracking read! I can not express enough how much I loved this book. If I had of been reading a physical copy of this book, I would of had a number of paper cuts as I couldnβt race through the pages quick enough! As it was, I kept skipping pages on my kindle in my haste to turn the page and had to slow down which was so hard to do. Marion took my hostage right from the start and did not let me go until the final word! I read this in one sitting as I had to know how it was gong to unfold and I was not disappointed. Not many books keep me up reading all night but there was no chance of me stopping with this one.

The Silent Victim (A Jessie Tucker Mystery #1) by Dana Perry
I absolutely loved this book. It completely blew my mind and I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I finished reading it! There are so many adjectives to describe this book but here are some that describe it best. It is action packed, addictive, brilliant, captivating, compelling, dangerous, dark, gripping, intense, riveting, spine tingling, terrifying and twisted! I could just keep going and going! I devoured this in one sitting as I could not tear myself away from it. What a magnificent start to a new series. I need the next book stat!

The Lies We Hide by S.E. Lynes
Known for her work in the psychological thriller genre, The Lies We Tell is new territory for Susie and she definitely nails it and smashes it out of the park! There are not too many books that get under my skin and stay with me long after I have finished them, but this book will be forever engrained in my memory and I will always be shouting it from the rooftops that you need to read this book when Iβm asked for a recommendation on what to read! *Warning* Make sure you have the tissues handy though when reading this as you will need them!

Thanks so much for your recommendations, Marnie. All three are going on the wish list. I love S.E. Lynes’ books so I can’t wait to read The Lies We Hide!

About Marnie:
I am a big lover of books, and I love to share my thoughts and opinions on what I read, so I thought it was about time that I created a book blog which I launched in February this year. Due to health issues I am unable to work or drive now so this blog has been my lifesaver and I really enjoy interacting with other bloggers and authors.
My favourite genres are thrillers, psychological thrillers, mysteries, cozy mysteries, crime and true crime.
