Hello bookish pals and welcome to day 8 of #R3COMM3ND3D2022. How is it day 8 already? Time certainly flies when you’re having book fun! A quick update for you (because I love an update!). There have been 21 individual titles #R3COMM3ND3D so far with no clear leader at the moment. I wonder if that will be the case by the end of the week….🤔
Before I introduce today’s brilliant guest, I wanted to quickly remind anyone considering taking part in #R3COMM3ND3D this year that the Google form closes this Thursday 10th November at midday (GMT). There are still a couple of days up for grabs towards the end of November so if you would like to take part, please don’t delay and fill in the form as soon as you can.
Joining me to share the book love today is a fabulous blogger whom I strongly recommend you follow (if you don’t already). It’s the brilliant Anita of seriesbooklover. I love reading Anita’s reviews as Anita is a fan of sci-fi and fantasy novels, which are two genres that have always intrigued me and I would love to read more of. Make sure you go and check out Anita’s blog!
So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2022? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors, book bloggers, reviewers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2022. To make things interesting there are a couple of teeny, tiny rules; 1) the book must have FIRST been published in 2022 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes 😉
This is the sixth year of #R3C so things are going to be a smidge different this year. Like last year, there’s a scary deadline involved *shudder*. Unlike last year’s form which closed in December, this year’s form will close A LOT EARLIER. The #R3COMM3ND3D application form will only be open until midday (GMT) on Thursday 10th November. If you would like to take part in #R3C this year (and I would LOVE you to!) then please get your three choices in sooner rather than later. Any posts scheduled for later in November will be brought forward and I will close the series early if I’m not able to fill all of the available dates. The form is at the bottom of this post if you fancy taking part.
Here are the three books Anita recommends…
Ocean’s Echo by Everina Maxwell
Ocean’s Echo was the perfect science-fiction with a hint of romance and lots of space intrigue
Anita’s Review of Ocean’s Echo
Small Angels by Lauren Owen
I loved this gothic ghost story set in a spooky little wood in north England
Anita’s Review of Small Angels
The Knave of Secrets by Alex Livingston
I love heists and this fantasy had a great cast of characters trying to pull of the perfect heist
Anita’s Review of The Knave of Secrets
Thank you so much, Anita. Three terrific sounding books and possibly my favourite cover of the year in amongst them!
I love reading especially science fiction and fantasy but will read any book including historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers, and non-fiction except romances. If I’m not reading, I’m usually running slowly, crocheting, or watching fantasy or sci-fi on tv
