Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at dp. My original plan was to participate as and when I had the time to put a post together. That then turned into posting ‘weekly without fail’ until I was forced to take a break following surgery to both shoulders (that recovery happened to coincide with a complete and utter loss of reading and blogging mojo 🤷🏻‍♀️). But now I’m back and I’m going to take a much more chilled approach to all things bookish. Which means TTT will return to being a regular feature on damppebbles but a ‘no pressure’ one (that’s the plan anyway!).

The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.

This week’s theme is Books on My Winter 2024-2025 to-Read List. Unfortunately you’ve probably seen most of my Winter TBR before because I took a previous post in a slightly different, unexpected (even to me!) direction and basically revealed my NetGalley shelf! Which is what I plan to read over the Winter months. For the sake of variety and keeping things interesting for you though, dear reader, I have returned to NetGalley today and added a few more ‘surprise’ books to my list. Surprise! The things I do to keep the blog mildly entertaining for you. You’re welcome 🤭 (Truth be told, I typed the word ‘NetGalley’, realised I hadn’t paid the site a visit recently and dashed over there to see what’s new whilst blaming my wonderful visitors for my own bookish weakness!)

Anyway, we will crack on with the ten books I plan to read over the coming months and hope there isn’t much duplication (there will be some – notice I haven’t linked to the aforementioned NetGalley post!).

1. You Are Fatally Invited by Ande Pliego

2. The Contest by Jeff Macfee

3. Other People’s Houses by Clare Mackintosh

4. The Surf House by Lucy Clarke

5. The Lost Victim by Robert Bryndza

6. House of Bone and Rain by Gabino Iglesias

7. Calling WPC Crockford by Ruth D’Alessandro

8. How to Survive a Horror Movie by Scarlett Dunmore

9. Her Two Lives by Nilesha Chauvet

10. Nobody’s Hero by M.W. Craven

So there you have it. Ten books I plan to read over the cold, Winter months. There certainly aren’t going to be many warm, cosy moments for me. More terror and chills I think! But that’s the way I like it. And I wouldn’t have it any other way, to be fair 🤷🏻‍♀️ To find out more about the books I’ve listed above just click the cover and it will take you to the place that starts with the letter ‘A’. And just so we’re all fully in-the-know, the links above are affiliate links.

Have you read any of these books? Are there any on my list that take your fancy? What books do you have on your Winter TBR? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.

So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next topic is!

  1. I haven’t read any on your list but they look good and I love a good thrilling read so a few have caught my eye like You Are Fatally Invited.
I’ve been getting through my NetGalley review books these past few weeks especially.
    Happy reading!

  2. I hope that you are recovering well.

I hope that you enjoy all these books. I try to stay away from Netgalley to keep my reading under control but failed for January and February 😂

    Have a good week ☺️
