Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.
The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
This week’s theme is Books Set in/Take Place During X (Pick a place, time, era, etc. Examples: Books set in Europe/Italy/Australia/Chicago, books set in Regency England, books that take place during the 1900s, books set in imaginary worlds/post-apocalyptic/dystopian worlds, books set on the ocean, books set it castles, books that take place during WW2, etc.). Taking the easy path again this week by featuring one of my absolute favourite settings, Australia. I adore Australian crime fiction and will always opt for the Aussie book over everything else. If you’re a fan of crime fiction then please do check these books out. They’re all SUPERB.
4. Force of Nature by Jane Harper
Difficult to pick just one book by this author!
5. Canticle Creek by Adrian Hyland
6. The Stoning by Peter Papathanasiou
7. The Way It Is Now by Garry Disher
8. The Outback by Sara Ochs
9. Cover the Bones by Chris Hammer
Again, difficult to select only one book.
10. The Graveyard Shift by Maria Lewis
Gosh, look at those beauties. I love all of the books above. Please do check them out if crime/murder mysteries are your thing. Some are part of a series and some are standalones. They’re all worth a read though. Aussie, aussie, aussie!
Have you read any of these books? Do you have a favourite setting or time period you often return to in the books you choose? Are you also a fan of Australian crime fiction (and if so, do you have any recommendation for me?)? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next topic is!

I do like crime-fiction, just so long as it doesn’t descend too heavily into the Dark. Now, which one of these should I start with?!

I do enjoy Aussie crime fiction as well. I have read a few of these, but others will be going on my TBR shelf. My TBR list is growing by leaps and bounds today.

Someone else picked Australia this week as well. I think it’s cool when that happens. 🙂
