Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.
The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog, then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
This week’s theme is a Halloween Freebie. I feel I’ve read quite a few books in the last year that feature a haunted house of some description so that’s my theme of choice today: Haunted House Novels with a Twist. A twist because one or two of the following books may not traditionally be classed as haunted house tales. I’ll let you be the judge of which books are and which books perhaps aren’t 😂
1. The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell
2. The Babysitter Lives by Stephen Graham Jones
3. How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix
4. Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman
5. The Place Where they Buried Your Heart by Christina Henry
6. We Live Here Now by Sarah Pinborough
7. The September House by Carissa Orlando
8. The Underhistory by Kaaron Warren
10. Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
(There’s a definite colour scheme going on here!) There you have it. Ten books I feel have a haunted house vibe about them, even if they’re not officially classed as being about a haunted house. Do you agree with the ten books I’ve chosen? I’m still a little unsure on one.
Have you read any of the books on my list this week? Do you love a haunted house tale as much as I do? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next topic is!

Some of these titles are really intriguing and I might give them a go. How To Sell A Haunted House appeals with just its title.

While I’m curious about a few of these titles, I doubt that I will read any of them as I struggle with anyt thing that’s too creepy.

I like a good haunted house story as well, as long as it’s not TOO terrifying. The only one of these I’ve read is HOME BEFORE DARK. Great list!
Happy TTT and Happy Halloween!

I’ve read 2 of these and I enjoyed both. I’ve read the Grady Hendrix one and the one by Carissa Orlando.
