#TopTenTuesday | 12th May 2026: Ten Books That Will Instantly Cure Your Reading Slump #Top10Tuesday #bookblogger #bookish #amreading #TTT #BookTwitter #booktwt #BookSky #damppebbles

Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.

The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog, then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.

This week’s theme is May Flowers (this is a companion to the April Showers topic from last month. Interpret however you’d like: books with flowers on the cover, colourful covers, books set in springtime, books where flowers/plants are a common theme, titles with flower names in them, characters named after flowers, covers that are as pretty as flowers, books featuring gardens, etc.).

I bailed on the April Showers theme last month. Mainly due to the fact that I struggled my way through a similar post in 2024 and didn’t fancy doing the same a second time around. And, as a crime reader, I don’t feel the May Flowers theme fits particularly well with my bookish aesthetic. So I’m going off-plan again this week with Ten Books That Will Instantly Cure Your Reading Slump. Happens to us all at some point or another. Please take ‘instantly’ with a pinch of salt. I guess that depends a lot on how your reading tastes compare to mine. We’re talking fast-paced, we’re talking engrossing and we’re talking nigh on impossible to put down. Here we go…

1. It’s Not What You Think by Clare Mackintosh

2. First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston

3. Eye Spy by C.M. Ewan

4. The Night Watcher by Tariq Ashkanani

5. We Live Here Now by Sarah Pinborough

6. The Countdown Killer by Sam Holland

7. 59 Minutes by Holly Seddon

8. The Drift by C.J. Tudor

9. Murder Road by Simone St James

10. The Stranger in Her House by John Marrs

Ten books I *almost* guarantee will cure your reading slump (caveat: providing you like exactly the same books as me 😂). What was the last book you read to end a pesky reading slump? Have you read any of these books? Planning on reading any? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.

So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next theme is!
