Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.
The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog, then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
This week’s theme is Bookish Places I’ve Visited (share all the cool places you’ve been that are bookish or tied to books! This includes neat libraries, book stores, places featured in books, places inspired by books, author homes/places they’ve stayed, etc. You can also share your bucket list of the bookish places you’d like to visit someday.) Submitted by Susan @ Bloggin’ ’bout Books. I spent some time thinking about this one but drew pretty much a blank. So I’ve gone in a completely different direction this week with Ten Crime Fiction Debuts That Blew My Mind. I’m a crime fiction fan. Police procedurals, mysteries and serial killer thrillers are my bread and butter so I hope this will be a fairly easy list to compile. But we shall see….

1. The Appeal by Janice Hallett

3. The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor

4. Brothers in Blood by Amer Anwar

5. Deep Down Dead by Steph Broadribb

6. The First Day of Spring by Nancy Tucker

7. The Girl in the Ice by Robert Bryndza
OK, this was Robert’s ‘crime debut’ rather than his ‘debut debut’ but it still counts in my eyes 😂

9. The Sister by Louise Jensen
More psychological thriller than crime fiction but it’s staying on the list!

All of the books above are astonishingly good. The sort of books you never forget. And they were the authors’ debut novel (in most cases, lol 😂)! Have you read any of these books? Planning on reading any? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next theme is!

Great list, I haven’t read any of these but am always on the lookout for gripping reads
