It’s my pleasure to welcome Paul Cheney to damppebbles today. Paul blogs over at the fantastic Halfman, Halfbook which, if you haven’t discovered yet, you must! Paul reads and reviews a lot of non-fiction so I find a visit to his blog quite refreshing. Plus, how can you not love a blog called Halfman, Halfbook?!
Paul has kindly joined me today to share his #R3COMM3ND3D2017 choices. #R3COMM3ND3D2017 is a feature on the blog where I invite book bloggers and authors to share three MUST READ books. The only stipulation is that the books chosen must have been published in 2017.
Here are Paul’s three choices:
Turning by Jessica J. Lee
It is a beautifully written memoir of her swimming 52 lakes around Berlin.
Revolutionary Ride by Lois Pryce
It is a fascinating account of a lone woman travelling in Iran on a motorbike.
Bee Quest by Dave Goulson
Really well-written book by a total bee fanatic as he travels around the world in search of his buzzy friends.
Thanks so much, Paul. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction myself, I think the closest I get is true crime every now and then, and the odd autobiography.
If Paul has tempted you with any of the above suggestions, or if you would like to find out more, then please click the following amazon.co.uk links:
Turning by Jessica J. Lee | Revolutionary Road by Lois Pryce | Bee Quest by Dave Goulson |
I have always loved all things about reading and books, and cannot walk past a bookshop or library without popping in; just to look, you understand. I read all types and genres of books, but my real passion is for non-fiction, in particular travel, natural history, history and science. I also love science fiction and fantasy and try to read some contemporary fiction too. Writing for Nudge Books as their voice of Book Life.

The swimming and the bees books sound really interesting actually! I need to set aside more time for non fiction next year, I think! Thanks for the recs, Paul!
