Hello and a warm welcome to damppebbles today. It’s the weekend, which is the perfect excuse to curl up with a good book. And if you’re looking for some new book recommendations then you’ve come to the right place! It’s day thirty-seven of #R3COMM3ND3D2019 and today I am delighted to welcome the very lovely Adele Blair of Kraftireader to share three of her standout reads from 2019. Adele’s blog is just gorgeous so make sure you pop over and have a look around. You can thank me later!
So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2019? Itβs about sharing the book love. Itβs a chance for authors and book bloggers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2019. To make things interesting I have added a couple of teeny, tiny rules this year which are; 1) the book must have first been published in 2019 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes. π
Here are the three books Adele recommends…
Leo and the Lightning Dragons by Gill White and Gilli B
This is a visual delight of a book raising awareness of a rare condition of epilepsy. The bravery of the author and her little boy is inspiring and I think this book should be in every school library.

Five Steps to Happy by Ella Dove
This is one of those WOW books; itβs a story that is so full of hope, encouragement and warmth that it leaves your whole body, heart and soul fuelled with emotion.

Christmas Child (Victorian Saga Romance Series #1) by Carol Rivers
Carol Rivers has written a very authentic Victorian saga that grips you with it’s honest description of life in its raw bleakness. I could feel the struggle of everyday life but I could also sense a flicker of determination to keep the hope and faith for better things to come.

Excellent choices, Adele, thank you! It’s great to see Five Steps to Happy making it’s second #R3COMM3ND3D2019 appearance too! At the moment there are SIX books all with two votes each. I can’t wait to find out which book/s come out on top!

About Adele:
I love how reading can be an invisible friend; it can lift you when you are down, it can also entertain you, make you laugh and can also make you cry, it can also inform you and fill your mind with wondrous facts and fill you with inspiration. You can find me reading along with my reading buddy (aka cat) armed with a cup of tea or two! My preferred genre are contemporary fiction, historical romance, historical fiction, sagas, romcoms and good old happy ever afters.
