#R3COMM3ND3D2020 with #BookBlogger Jacob Collins (@collinsjacob115) #HookedFromPageOne #damppebbles #BookRecommendations #publishedin2020

Hello and happy Fridaaaaaaaaaaaay! Welcome to day six of #R3COMM3ND3D2020 (and yes, I’m still not quite used to typing #R3COMM3ND3D2020 yet so I’m having to check it sixteen times to make sure it’s correct 🀦). Today I am delighted to welcome another brilliant book blogger to share their three 2020 picks with us – the awesome Jacob Collins of Hooked From Page One. Jacob is very passionate about crime fiction and I love his blog. Make sure you give him a follow if you don’t already.

So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2020? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors, book bloggers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2020. To make things interesting I have added a couple of teeny, tiny rules this year which are; 1) the book must have first been published in 2020 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes. πŸ˜‰

Let’s find out which three books Jacob has chosen…

R3C20 We begin at the end

We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker
Chris Whitaker is such a brilliant author. We Begin at the End is a masterpiece and I am certain it is going to be my top read of 2020. If you enjoy atmospheric crime fiction with strong characters, this is the book for you.

R3C20 blood red city

Blood Red City by Rod Reynolds
I really enjoyed Blood Red City which is the first book I’ve read by Rod Reynolds. If you enjoyed The Capture on BBC One last year then you’ll really enjoy this book. I’m really hoping that this is going to expand into a series.

R3C20 curse the day

Curse the Day by Judith O’Reilly
Curse the Day is crying out to be made into a Hollywood film. The pace never lets up, and Judith’s writing kept me flying through the pages as the book raced towards its dramatic conclusion. I promise you; you will find this book very difficult to put down. I can’t wait to see where Judith O’Reilly takes the series next.

Excellent choices, thank you Jacob. I have two of your picks on my TBR and the other is, without doubt, my book of the year 😍
