Hello bookish friends and welcome to Friday on damppebbles. It’s the weekend at last, phew! It’s also day 18 of #R3COMM3ND3D2022 and what an epic year this is turning out to be. We’ve had fifty lovely books recommended so far but only one book has been chosen twice and that’s The Girl from Guernica by Karen Robards. Will TGfG be our overall winner come the end of November? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see…

Joining me to chat about three of their favourite 2022 books today is a brilliant bookstagrammer I heartily recommend you follow (if you don’t already). It’s the fabulous Lynda Checkley of @lyndas_bookreviews. I’m a huge fan of Lynda’s reviews and blame her (in the nicest possible way, of course! ) for MANY additions to my own bookshelf 😂 Give her a follow on Instagram or join her Facebook group (link below) and I’m sure you’ll be adding to your TBR too!

So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2022? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors, book bloggers, reviewers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2022. To make things interesting there are a couple of teeny, tiny rules; 1) the book must have FIRST been published in 2022 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes 😉

I was completely blown away by this book it was a captivating read.

And of course, this is the second time we’ve seen Nothing Else by Louise Beech which puts it in joint first place with The Girl from Guernica. We’ve got a race to the finish on our hands now and things are really hotting up!
