Hello bookish pals and welcome to damppebbles. I’ve decided to occasionally (that’s the keyword here, occasionally!) take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme. The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
As I mentioned Top Ten Tuesday will be an occasional feature on damppebbles and that’s because of two main reasons. The first is time. I’m always behind with my reviews, often writing them the night before they’re due so it all depends on how organised I am that week! The second reason is that as a crime/thriller/horror reader I don’t think I’ll be able to come up with a full list to meet the criteria EVERY week. For example, the prompt around Valentine’s Day was ‘love’. Looking at my shelves now, I can’t see a single book that includes the word ‘love’. No surprise, really. I also want to only include books I have either already enjoyed or books I am planning to read in the near future. Otherwise it’s too easy, right?
So on to this week’s prompt which is: Covers/Titles with Things Found in Nature which was submitted by Jessica @ a GREAT read. I’m sat here now before I start to compile this list and only one book springs to mind so I’ll start with that first and see how we go (click the link to read my review).

1. On the Savage Side by Tiffany McDaniel

2. Cover the Bones by Chris Hammer

3. Speak of the Devil by Rose Wilding

4. The Island by Catherine Cooper

5. The Wiregrass by Adrian Hyland

9. The Therapist by B.A. Paris

10. Dog Rose Dirt by Jen Williams
I started strong but was struggling a little by the end, however we got there! Ten covers (although I’m not 100% convinced on the second one!) that feature nature – trees, plants, animals and more covers than I expected featuring a body of water. Who knew I had read so many watery books?! I had to make a conscious effort to not make all ten covers water related! 🙈
Have you read any of these titles? Can you think of any crime fiction novels I haven’t included that would fit this week’s topic?
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the prompt is!

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! A great selection there. I take part most weeks but sometimes just freestyle if I don’t have anything to fit the category. Or I look back at one of the older ones I haven’t done.

Thanks Joanne. I can see myself going off on a slightly different tangent some weeks. You’ve gotta love a list though! 😂

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!
I like a bit of horror, too.
Not everyone who participates in TTT talks only about books they own. Sometimes I have to share books I haven’t read or bought for certain themes, and that’s totally okay. 🙂

I read a lot of mystery/thrillers and a bunch of them take place around water. There’s just something sinister about water, I guess!
Happy TTT!
