Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at damppebbles. Add a little bit of variety to our bookish weeks.
The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.
This week’s theme is Books with the Word “[Insert Word Here]” in the Title (Choose a word and find ten books with that word in the title.). Looking at what I’ve reviewed on the blog over the years there are two words that feature in an awful lot of crime fiction titles. But I don’t want to make this too easy so I’m going to choose a different word. I’m going to go with DARK. Hopefully, it shouldn’t be *too* difficult as everything I tend to read is quite DARK so I’ll be surprised if it’s not used in titles as well as tone. Wish me luck….
1. All the Colours of the DARK by Chris Whitaker
2. We Are All the Same in the DARK by Julia Heaberlin
4. Home Before DARK by Riley Sager
5. DARK Matter by Blake Crouch
6. The DARK Room by Jonathan Moore
7. After DARK by Dominic Nolan
8. DARK Water by Robert Bryndza
9. DARK Houses by Helen H. Durrant
10. The DARK Inside by Rod Reynolds
Who am I kidding? That was SO easy. Dark content surely equals a dark title! There are some great books here and I really enjoyed putting this list together. Some of these books I haven’t thought about in years but they’re all corkers.
Have you read any of these books? Are there any on my list that take your fancy? Have I missed any? What’s the first book you think of that has the word ‘DARK’ in the title? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.
So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next topic is!

It’s an intriguing cover. I don’t remember much about the book itself, but I seemed to have sort of enjoyed it from my review 😂

Not only is your word DARK but the covers all seem dark, too. Good list.

I think the thriller genre is quite dark, which is logical otherwise it’s quite unbelieveable LOL!

I’ve seen a LOT of people enjoying Riley’s books, but never read any. May be I need to look into those because a good mystery book now and then is fun. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my list.

I love that we both went with the word ‘dark’ and yet have two different lists focusing on different genres 🙂

A perfect choice for you, Emma. The DI Greco Series by Helen Durant all have Dark in the Title. I have had them on my TBR for awhile now, so thanks for the reminder.

I tend to like a similar type of suspense/mystery/thriller stories that you do, but I’ve only read one of these – Dark Matter, but I’m going to have to check out more of these.
