#R3COMM3ND3D2020 with #BookBlogger Kate (@bantambookworm) #PortableMagic #damppebbles #BookRecommendations #publishedin2020

Hurrah, it’s Friday (we won’t mention that it’s the 13th though πŸ˜‚)! Happy Friday and a very warm welcome to the blog. Today I am delighted to welcome another amazing book blogger to share their three #R3COMM3ND3D2020 picks with us. It’s the fabulous Kate of Portable Magic. Kate is one of my favourite bloggers so if you don’t already, make sure you give her a follow!

So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2020? It’s about sharing the book love. It’s a chance for authors, book bloggers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2020. To make things interesting I have added a couple of teeny, tiny rules this year which are; 1) the book must have first been published in 2020 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes. πŸ˜‰

Let’s find out which three books Kate has picked…

R3C20 I Am Dust

I Am Dust by Louise Beech
I AM DUST is, like all Louise’s books, beautifully written and I loved the atmosphere she created, which kept me hooked all the way through.

R3C20 The secrets of strangers

The Secrets of Strangers by Charity Norman
THE SECRETS OF STRANGERS takes a group of “ordinary” people and puts them in an extraordinary situation. I loved getting to know them, and seeing how their life experiences shaped their reactions. It’s such an emotive book: I had tears streaming down my face by the end.

R3C20 all my lies are true

All My Lies Are True by Dorothy Koomson
ALL MY LIES ARE TRUE is the sequel to The Ice Cream Girls, which I loved, and I loved being back with these characters and seeing what had happened to them. It opened my eyes to what abusive relationships can be like and it’s so important to be educated about this!

Wonderful choices, thanks so much Kate. Louise Beech is always a #R3COMM3ND3D favourite so I look forward to seeing how many votes I Am Dust gets this year!

About Kate:
I’m a blogger from Leeds who reads mostly crime and thrillers but is up for trying most genres! When I’m not reading, I can be found watching Bradford City or catching up with my family and friends.
