Hello and welcome to Saturday on damppebbles and to day 12 of #R3COMM3ND3D2022. I hope you have a fun-filled weekend lined up and that you get the time to lose yourself in a good book! If you’re without a good book then you’ve come to the right place. Over the past 11 days we’ve had 33 brilliant book recommendations, and today’s guest has three more beauties to add to the list.
I am delighted to welcome the first bookstagrammer of this year to share the #R3COMM3ND3D2022 book love, it’s Charlotte Bonner of @bonnerbooks. I’m a newfound convert to bookstagram (I think many of us are after recent changes on another social media platform *cough*) and I love the bookish community over there. Charlotte posts the most beautiful photos on her grid, and you can be sure she knows her stuff as a Waterstones bookseller and publishing student. Make sure you give her a follow if you don’t already.
So, what is #R3COMM3ND3D2022? Itβs about sharing the book love. Itβs a chance for authors, book bloggers, reviewers and bookstagrammers to shout about three (yes, *only* three) books they love. They can be written by any author, in any genre and published in any way (traditionally, indie press or self-published). But there is a catch. All three books must have been published in 2022. To make things interesting there are a couple of teeny, tiny rules; 1) the book must have FIRST been published in 2022 and 2) special editions and reissues do not count. I like to keep you lovely people on your toes π
Here are the three books Charlotte recommends…
A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross
I could not put it down! And when I did, because my reading time was limited when I read it, my every thought was consumed by this book and wanting to know what would happen next! Fantasy, mystery and Scottish folklore – what more could you want?!
Charlotte’s Review of A River Enchanted
Unlikely Match by Laura Bradbury
A beautiful transplant romance. A raw and beautiful story of friendship, romance and real life struggles. This book had me in tears equally amounts as it had me smiling. A slow burn romance that is just stunning!

Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Beautifully written and Carrie is such a relatable character (to me anyway π). Perfect for tennis fans and novices alike! TJR has an amazing talent at creating highly lovable unlikeable characters and I love it so much!
Charlotte’s Review of Carrie Soto is Back
Thank you so much, Charlotte. Three absolutely gorgeous looking books I’m sure will be going straight on everyone’s wish list!
About Charlotte Bonner:
23 years old, publishing hopefully and book lover. I adore fantasy, romance and young adult books especially if they have an added mystery or retelling within them!

Sadly submissions for #R3COMM3D3D2022 are now closed. Shortly after the last post I will be inviting you to attend the virtual after-show party, which should be fun. We’ll get to gaze upon the marvellous and majestic beauty of 2022’s books and also crown 2022’s winner, if we have one (they’re all winners, right?). Until then stay tuned as we have lots more bookish gorgeousness heading your way throughout November.
How interesting that there have been so many different books chosen this year!
