#TopTenTuesday | 26th November 2024: Debut Novels I Enjoyed #Top10Tuesday #bookblogger #bookish #amreading #TTT #BookTwitter #booktwt #BookX #damppebbles

Hello and a very warm welcome to damppebbles. It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post. I’ve decided to take part in That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday meme to mix things up a little here at dp. My original plan was to participate as and when I had the time to put a post together. That then turned into posting ‘weekly without fail’ until I was forced to take a break following surgery to both shoulders (that recovery happened to coincide with a complete and utter loss of reading and blogging mojo 🤷🏻‍♀️). But now I’m back and I’m going to take a much more chilled approach to all things bookish. Which means TTT will return to being a regular feature on damppebbles but a ‘no pressure’ one (that’s the plan anyway!).

The meme was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish but has lived with Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. It was created to encompass a love of books, of lists and to bring readers together. If you would also like to take part then you’re very welcome: the more, the merrier. Just make sure you link back to Jana’s post every week. If you don’t have a blog then no problem, just add your list to the comments below.

I’m going off-plan with my list this week. Officially, this week’s topic is ‘Thankful/Thanksgiving Freebie’ to coincide with and celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday. Now, I’m always very thankful for the wonderful authors and the fabulous books they write, and the very generous publishers who send me their latest releases for review. I’m also very grateful that you’re here reading this post and for all of the marvellous support and interaction I get over on the socials. It really does warm my cold, black heart. However, I’m not in the US. Nor am I American. So I’m going to go back in time and go with a topic I missed whilst AWOL in July. This week I will be sharing Debut Novels I Enjoyed.

1. Deadly Animals by Marie Tierney

2. Twenty-Seven Minutes by Ashley Tate

3. The Villa by Ruth Kelly

4. Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

5. Nobody But Us by Laure Van Rensburg

6. Outback by Patricia Wolf

7. The Watchers by A.M. Shine

8. More Than You’ll Ever Know by Katie Gutierrez

9. Dirt Town by Hayley Scrivenor

10. Welcome to Cooper by Tariq Ashkanani

I’ve tried very hard to include a few books I haven’t featured on a Top Ten Tuesday list before. There are some absolute corkers here and I strongly recommend them all.

Have you read any of these books? Are there any on my list that take your fancy? Do you enjoy reading debut authors or do you find you stick to authors you have read before? Are you taking part in Top Ten Tuesday this week? Let me know in the comments.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my American followers, subscribers and visitors a very happy Thanksgiving later this week. I hope you have a wonderful day surrounded by people who make your heart happy (and a large pile of brilliant books!).

So there we have it! If you fancy joining in next week then head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog to find out what the next topic is!

    • I saw Twenty-Seven Minutes had mixed reviews when it was first published. It’s out in paperback next year so I’ll be interested to see how it fares. Thanks for sharing your TTT link.

    • I think The Watchers has been made into a movie fairly recently! The book was pretty creepy so I don’t think I’ll be watching the movie 😂😂 Thanks for sharing your list.
